I think I'm experiencing the same problem. Today, on my HP Proliant server running Ubuntu 12.04 server with 14.04 HWE it hang on boot, but I could reboot it with sys rq keys. On next boot, there was no automatic countown on boot selection. However, computer successfully booted and works since then. I have never expirenced problems like this on older kernels.
On related note, my home server running Ubuntu 14.04 with 3.13 also hang when today booted. After restart (with sysreg keys), booted ok. I'm attaching syslog from Ubuntu 12.04 server with 14.04 HWE. ** Attachment added: "freeze.log" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1352358/+attachment/4170623/+files/freeze.log -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1352358 Title: Kernel 3.13 freezes sometimes at startup To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1352358/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
