Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: ntfs-3g

While writing larger files to an NTFS file system, ntfs-3g uses up most
of the cpu (70 - 90%)

The longer the copying lasts the slower it gets.

700MB take 3 day plus to copy!!!

Initially copy information in Gnome states 1:xx hours, with the number
increasing with every byte copied.

At 80% of the file copied, copying comes to a crawling halt (with about
5 bytes per minute)

Same phenomenon in Gnome and from the console.

Linux hb 2.6.20-16-generic #2 SMP Fri Aug 31 00:55:27 UTC 2007 i686
GNU/Linux

ntfs-3g 1.328

Thanks Wolf
