I've run 'tail -f /var/log/kern.log' while I was working. The system crashes hard when I mark a region in the terminal. There seems to be _no_ kernel panic happening but random code execution. After about a minute the screen turns into random patterns! So, to prevent data corruption I switched it off. I've tested with the 3.13 stock kernel and with the 3.14 kernel from the ununtu PPA. The photo is taken from the 3.14 kernel run.
