renewed instance of "Resolved" Bug #1303736 and is, I think, related to
this, thought maybe not a "Duplicate".

The behaviour I'm seeing is that the laptop does NOT suspend correctly
on lid close, but DOES when "Suspend" key is pressed or Log-off
"Suspend" option is clicked.

There are obviously variants to the behaviour and possibly different
causes, but in my case the system NEVER suspends correctly on lid close,
even though the power-manager-settings are set to "Suspend"
