I think I understand now: libvte9 stopped evolving in Oct 2012 at 0.28.2-5. It is not supported by gnome.org anymore. And it has NOT been forked by MATE yet! Integrating your new patch would mean to fork the out-dated libvte9.
After what Egmont wrote on https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=736196 I think your patch for mate-terminal (comment #5) was the better approach for MATE. ** Bug watch added: GNOME Bug Tracker #736196 https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=736196 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1337195 Title: MATE terminal: mouse scroll doesn't work in certain console apps (e.g. man) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-mate/+bug/1337195/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
