I don't disagree that sending the software product name and version
invites some problems. However coming back to what I wrote initially -
"Knowing the actual make and model allows us to account for quirks and
limitations of individual emulations" -  is the crux of it. I don't
actually care about cool new features. It is the missing or broken
features that cause me a problem.

I will wait until the changes that have been made (thanks) make it into
the mainline release and then I will probably try to patch ENQ support
in, particularly since the code is all there except that it sends a
response of length 0.
