I thought as much. Also, let me guess: if you update in IUCODE_TOOL_INITRAMFS=yes, the "hle" flag doesn't disappear. It also explains the illegal opcode exceptions if libpthread-2.19 is using Intel TSX for lock elision... which looks likely.
