I am also seeing errors like "intel_display.c:3313
intel_crtc_wait_for_pending_flips ..." over various kernel releases from
Ubuntu 14.04 and now Ubuntu 14.10.

My hardware is a Lenovo X1 Carbon with an external display connected to
the display port.

After the freeze i can restart my display manager (lightdm) and resume my work 
for some time.
Quite often, this happens when I wake up my screen after a lock or after 
un-/re-plugging my external display.
