There is a reason why the backend has changed to zeitgeist. You can find more information here http://esite.ch/2013/12/29/storing-clipboard- items-infinitely-test-version/
First of all is it that we have implemented a infinitive clipboard history which gives us the possibility for much better search capabilities. For now there is a powerful Unity Scope integration but more to come on this front. Implementing an infinitive clipboard history with the search capabilities Zeitgeist offers is really hard to implement with XML and we would simply just reinvent the wheel - so it is much easier to simply use a library which is already out there and well tested. Also in the end I do not see the difference between Zeitgeist and XML as your data is stored either in a sqlite database or in a xml file on your machine - the data has to be stored somewhere in the end. As you have noted would we like to have a better integration as explained in https://bugs.launchpad.net/diodon/+bug/1312704 and we are working on this so the whole privacy settings make more sense. For these reasons I mark this issue as Invalid. What would be interested though what you mean with debconf hint? Any samples you know of to see how this is accomplished? ** Changed in: diodon (Ubuntu) Status: New => Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1380631 Title: diodon doesn't save entries in history To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/diodon/+bug/1380631/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
