Public bug reported: Same issue as reported in Bug #1357090 (Xubuntu LTS 14.04.1) and Bug #1303736 (Xubuntu LTS 14.04) is confirmed on Xubuntu 14.10 upgraded from 14.04.1 on Dell Latitude 400.
Closing the lid does not activate a clean suspend and results in black screen with frozen cursor upon re-opening the lid. The machine does NOT suspend. Once black screen mode is invoked, the only recourse is power off re- boot. Fix reported http://xubuntu.org/news/laptop-users-fix-available-for-the- black-screen-on-unlock-bug/ does not seem to apply. As before, suspending before closing lid by using menus or keyboard works correctly and results in a clean resume on lid open. As a reminder, suspend by lid close always worked correctly in Xubuntu 12.04 LTS so this is NOT a "BIOS problem" as has been suggested elsewhere. ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1385926 Title: Black screen on resume after suspend by lid close persists in Xubuntu 14.10 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1385926/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
