I had the idea to downgrade the kernel to 3.13 (i.e. the latest kernel from the 14.04 release) and now I get the proper timing for the C tasks:
with gcc 4.9: 497.400u 11.065s 1:43.49 491.3% 0+0k 191184+175312io 542pf+0w with gcc 4.8: 487.047u 12.155s 1:45.83 471.6% 0+0k 26304+172720io 411pf+0w I'm also checking the longer task and will report shortly if it comes back to a decent time. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1388276 Title: 14.10 about 2 to 3 times slower to perform concurrent tasks To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1388276/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
