Public bug reported: Octave-specfun shadows built-in and core library functions, which causes at least a several second hangup at startup (making especially heavy octave use in scripts frustrating) and an ominous warning.
Reportedly Debian Jessi's package version 1.1.0-2 does not suffer from this problem, but it's unusable as such on Ubuntu due to dependency issues.
