Thanks Pavel! Not sure if I did this correctly. I could not find lines in my 50-default.conf that were exactly the same as what you posted above, so I just copied and pasted your example above into my conf file instead. Hope that was ok.
When I restarted network-manager the applet went away and came back correctly. When I tried to connect to the VPN nothing happened. The debug log is completely empty. I tried restarting and connecting a second time, again nothing and the log remains empty (literally 0 bytes). Did I look in the right place? Is /var/log/debug the correct place to look for the file? The feeling I get when I click on the VPN link in my applet submenu is that the click is not registering on the system. Something like an empty a href link tag in an html page. The link simply doesn't respond when it is clicked on. As I mentioned previously, VPN connects fine when I do it from the terminal, so I wonder if there is something wrong or missing in the applet's VPN submenu. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1297849 Title: Virtual private network connection fails after distribution upgrade due to outdated Network Manager configuration files To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/hundredpapercuts/+bug/1297849/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
