Was it an official workaround? I would like to stay on 14.04 (since it is LTS), does this patch will be released in one of next updates? The wifi issue is really huge for me, it does not even connect with EDUROAM (the international educational wifi network) and since it is a laptop without ethernet cable I should fix this issue before next working travel...
