Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: kdm

I have a Thinkpad T61p, on which I would like to use the vesa driver.
However when I try to use it, kdm never comes up. In
/var/log/daemon.log, the following line appears:

Abnormal termination of greeter for display :0, code 0, signal 75

However kdm works like a charm, when using the binary nvidia driver.

Also note that it does not seem to be specific to kdm, as the gdm
greeter also crashes when using the vesa driver.

** Affects: kdebase (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
