UbUK, did this problem not occur in a release prior to Trusty? If you don't know/haven't tested it, for regression testing purposes, could you please test a live environment of 12.04.0 (not 12.04.5 or some other variant) via http://old-releases.ubuntu.com/releases/12.04.0/ and advise to the results?
