I agree that this error is not really an error and does not affect the DKMS modules at all. I get the error when a new kernel is installed but the nvidia-331 and nvidia-331-uvm DKMS modules are successfully built. This can be seen when the kernel is subsequently removed and the DKMS modules are successfully removed.
Also, in 14.10 since it is in final release you probably want to turn off the bug reports as I did and I believe is customary after a version release with this command: sudo sh -c 'echo "enabled=0" > /etc/default/apport' -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1268257 Title: nvidia-331-updates 331.38-0ubuntu3: nvidia-331-updates kernel module failed to build, with only error: "objdump: '... .tmp_nv.o': No such file" To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nvidia-graphics-drivers-331/+bug/1268257/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
