FIXED After coping the file xymon-config to /etc/defaults. My template file was in /usr/share/xymon/xymon-client.default.template. Editing the file with my xymon settings it gave me an error. Title: package xymon-client 4.3.7-1ubuntu2 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1
this meant that I could use the advice in bug #1069227.
