Public bug reported: Binary package hint: synaptic
Using 7.01, no matter which repository I choose, there is a problem (but I haven't tried them all, only those in Canada and the SA Archives) Sometimes i get 304 responses, which is technically a valid result, but Synaptic rejects the connection. Most of the others are 404, and we have to go through the entire list of download files before the program stops to alert me. If the answer is invalid when the first file is 404, shouldn't that be a 'lazy evaluation' and immediately exit? Also, although my Gnome setting for default browser is to open a new window (with -remote) Synaptic insists on opening a new instance, which requires that I close all my browser pages to file this report :( ProblemType: Bug Architecture: i386 Date: Wed Sep 12 09:50:24 2007 DistroRelease: Ubuntu 7.04 ExecutablePath: /usr/sbin/synaptic Package: synaptic 0.57.11.1ubuntu14 PackageArchitecture: i386 ProcCmdline: synaptic ProcCwd: /home/garym/alsa-driver-hg20070911 ProcEnviron: SHELL=/bin/bash PATH=/usr/local/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:/sbin:/bin:/usr/X11R6/bin LANG=en_CA.UTF-8 SourcePackage: synaptic Uname: Linux uhuru 2.6.20-16-generic #2 SMP Fri Aug 31 00:55:27 UTC 2007 i686 GNU/Linux ** Affects: synaptic (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Synaptic Repositories are 304 or 404, both fail https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/139114 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
