Error: /var/lib/postgresql/9.4/main is not accessible or does not exist

This pretty much speaks for itself -- did you manually remove
/var/lib/postgresql without also removing /etc/postgresql/ ? Please
clean up both. "pg_lsclusters" will show you which clusters you still
have configured and where their data directories are supposed to be.
