Follow-up to my two previous notes. I discovered a self-made problem with a script on my system that was causing the invoke-rc.d step of the installation to fail. This may explain why the spamassassin postinst script did not run in this instance.
For more detains on the nature of bug for the udev package, see: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/sysvinit/+bug/1406735 Thus, my report here may be a false flag. However, the scripting error that caused the problem was not in place a few weeks ago when my attempts to install the sendmail package failed with spamassassin. I still believe that there may be an underlying problem with this particular package that seems to be causing many people difficulties. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1400669 Title: package spamassassin 3.4.0-3ubuntu1 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/spamassassin/+bug/1400669/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
