Drawbacks are that glimagesink is messy when moving windows under compiz. Of course, workaround does not fix other players such as xine and mplayer. However, thanks for the solution, it makes sense for gstreamer based players, it could be adopted by default. Gstreamer should test if xv works and in the opposite case it would use gl.
