Hi again, Sorry for the trouble, but I found out the cause of the error message. I didn't realize there were log files to check. Inside /var/log/dist- upgrade/main.log, there is this message:
2015-01-07 23:21:28,887 ERROR Dist-upgrade failed: 'The package 'ubuntu- gnome-desktop' is marked for removal but it is in the removal blacklist.' I uninstalled this package and the upgrade appears to be fine. So, there might be a conflict in terms of the ubuntu-gnome-desktop package? Thank you!
