Lubuntu 14.04 [1] maps the power button as follows:

   <!-- Launch logout when push on the shutdown button -->
    <keybind key="XF86PowerOff">
      <action name="Execute">
        <command>lxsession-default quit</command>
      </action>
    </keybind>

This configuration may interfere with xfce4-power-manager. Also, the
power manager is probably not able to call and display the Xfce logout
dialog without an active Xfce session.
