I have the same problem with this Asus M2400N, Pentium M 1,3 GHz. Ubuntu Version is latest Gutsy Gibbon and I can only boot with "nolapic" option (or acpi=off). Direct rendering works, sound seems to work too... Havent tested it very intense yet.
