vlc and vlc-nox 2.2.0~pre2-4build1 depend on "libavcodec56 (>= 6:11~beta1) | libavcodec-extra-56 (>= 6:11~beta1)". libavcodec56 and libavcodec-extra-56 exist both in version 6:11-1. So both should satisfy the dependency. If apt wants to remove vlc and vlc-nox, it's either a bug in apt or libav, but not in vlc!
