Robbob: I would be amazed if having thinkpad_acpi changed the outcome of your hibernation. I think you will need to do some basic troubleshooting to determine where your problem lies. Can you indicate whether suspend and resume while using the nv (or vesa) driver instead of the NVIDIA binary driver? How does it fail? If it resumes and the screen is blank does caps lock work? (I know the following probably won't be possible if you have existing data you need to preserve but I will ask anyway) Are things any better in Gutsy (this is assuming the vesa/nv driver didn't work at all)?
