Thanks for taking your time to report this issue and help making Ubuntu better.
I'm not sure why you get different versions numbers, and I am not able to reproduce it here on Ubuntu 14.10. Have you had any earlier versions of redis installed prior to this? $ apt-cache policy redis-server redis-server: Installed: 2:2.8.13-3 Candidate: 2:2.8.13-3 Version table: *** 2:2.8.13-3 0 500 http://no.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ utopic/universe amd64 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status $ redis-server -v Redis server v=2.8.13 sha=00000000:0 malloc=jemalloc-3.6.0 bits=64 build=cee0f9a49c3c27aa ** Tags added: utopic -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1416061 Title: redis version installed is 2.6.9 albeit it is mention in the package to be 2.8.13 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/redis/+bug/1416061/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
