Good news: I have updated the BIOS and now the suspend/resume works again! Thank you!
At least I think it was the BIOS. I did perform a Ubuntu update one of the past days out of habit - I should not have done it, to make sure that only one thing is changed in the system - sorry for that. Anyway, I'm pretty sure it was the BIOS, so this can be marked as "not a bug".
