Public bug reported: Binary package hint: network-manager
Waking the computer after sleeping, the network manager icon in the system tray has disappeared, and the computer will not automatically connect to any networks. Opening System -> Administration -> Network to get the Network Settings panel says the wireless network connection is not configured. Plugging in a network cable after network manager disappears still works as expected: an IP address is obtained via DHCP. Running ps -A does, show NetworkManagerD. After restarting network manager always reappears, however a Ctrl-Alt- Bkspc does not fix the problem. This occurred on an IBM Thinkpad X31. Open question: I know that there have been some problems with power management on Thinkpads, some of which were addressed in an update yesterday. Could this be related to that? ** Affects: network-manager (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- [gutsy] network connection manager dissapears, wireless disabled https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/139741 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
