** Description changed: - (Not sure if this problem should belong to the emacs or common- - dictionaries package) + (Not sure if this problem should belong to the emacs or dictionaries- + common package) If dictionaries-common is installed before emacs (which is the case in a standard Trusty desktop install), then /usr/share/FLAVOR/site-lisp /dictionaries-common/ never gets created and the files ispell.el, debian-ispell.el, and flyspell.el never get copied from /usr/share/emacs/...etc Can quickly be fixed by changing /etc/emacs/site-lisp/50dictionaries- common.el to search for the ispell/flyspell libraries in the unflavored /usr/share/emacs/site-lisp, but I don't know if that has repercussions. This bug manifests itself during boot up of emacs, there is a message about debian-aspell-only-dictionary-alist value as variable being void.
