I did use Live Ubuntu booted from a USB Drive. I have configured BIOS in
my computer to report Optimus and to use Nvidia Optimus technology.

I was able to boot into the system. I have installed recommended Nvidia
Drivers, and restarted the computer. The issue more or less exists,
however now it manifests itself in a different way.

The image is stretched and mouse "misses" the point where I want to
click, yielding the system unusable. Please see attachment. In the
example I was trying to click on the window "Does the display look
okay?" to drag it, however instead, on a second monitor, selection
started to appear (see right side of the screenshot). This behaviour
makes it impossible to click on anything (ignoring the fact, that the
look of UI prevents you from using the system anyway), the only way to
operate the system is to use keyboard (the system responds to tab and
enter in a proper way).

Additionally now this happens even, if the external monitor is virtually
placed on the right side of a primary display.

When the external display is not in use, the system behaves more or less
okay.
