For clarity: I attempted the following on my test machine:
1. Upgrade from 14.04.1 with the driver installed. I always recommend against this, but I attempted it anyway in the interest of testing. 2. From a fresh installation of 14.01.1, install the driver, remove the driver, upgrade and then re-install the driver. 3. Install 14.04.2 fresh, update and then install the driver.
