created an image using...

$ sudo ubuntu-device-flash -v --revision 220 core --size 3  -o
i386-r220.img --channel ubuntu-core/devel-proposed  --developer-mode
--device generic_i386

... I'm able to boot successfully on real hardware (Intel Atom N450) and
don't see the errors above.
