The use case for having a scope and an app from the same package is simplifying the process of installing closely related components. Eg: the untappd scope, which also installs a helper webapp. This is already well supported, and there are several packages in the store already that have both a scope and an app.
The bug here is that all of those packages show up in the store as apps, when it might more sense for some of them to show up as scopes. Installing two apps from the same package would be for something like a camera app that also installs a gallery app, but there are many places we'd have to fix in order for this to work in a decent way. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1432636 Title: Scopes with a helper app show up as apps in the store To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-ux/+bug/1432636/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
