Dear Catkiller, I'll try intstalling this alsa driver, though being so far a quite inexperienced linux user this might take some time :-) Just as a note aside: I have read in one of the support forum threads of someone installing this driver, with the result of the microphone working, however terribly (too much noise to run Skype, it appeared). Whether this is due to the hardware or due to the installation, I'll have to find out... Thank you for the advice! Victorovitch
