'check' complains about The ./dists/edgy/main/binary-powerpc/Release file failed the MD5 checksum verification. Your CD-ROM or this file may have been corrupted'. I tried two different media and never had this before, so I checked manually: # md5sum /cdrom/dists/edgy/main/binary-powerpc/Release 76da0c7fb89cfae9595a369f927bb1dd This is exactly the same md5sum that I get with the loop-mounted ISO image.
