@Gunnar It seems to me that since there is an workaround (uim + some local hack) a lot of people who could help speed this up will not. But as long as IBus is used by a lot of distros (default in Ubuntu and Fedora, according to Wikipedia), the issue remains. Could you, please, point me what kind of research should be done? Maybe finding the commit that changed the behaviour? Do you think this can be understood as a regression? Or IBus (assuming it as the culprit) was changed by design? What do you think?
