Public bug reported: In southern Germany and Austrias it is common to put the famillyname in front of the firstname. So instead of "John Doe" it would be "Doe, John". For me this is quite crucial when it comes to business contacts where I more likely know the famillyname and not so much the firstname (yes, I could use the search, but that is slower).
So it should be possible to display the names in the addressbook like "Famillyname, Firstname". Here is some information on wikipedia to that issue: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/German_name#Order_of_names_and_use_of_articles This issue relates to bug #1215373 but is not the same. ** Affects: address-book-app (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1439140 Title: Display familly name first in the addressbook To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/address-book-app/+bug/1439140/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
