So this seems to be a new feature of systemd (introduced in systemd 211): when docked, it does not suspend when closing the lid
Changing HandleLidSwitchDocked to suspend in /etc/systemd/logind.conf "fixed" the problem; that is I get the expected behavior that when closing the lid the laptop goes to sleep even with a connected external monitor BUT ONLY ON ARCHLINUX This work-around does not work in ubuntu !!! -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1439440 Title: Laptop does not go to sleep when closing lid with external monitor connected To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/1439440/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
