I'm still having problems with this touchpad sensitivity on Gutsy
x86_64. My computer is an MSI MS-1719. I have tried every which way that
I have found (and I think I have probably found them all) to configure
the xorg.conf, but no matter what I do, the end result is the same. If I
try to launch ksynaptics, or synclient, I get the warning about shared
memory being inaccessible.

There is absolutely no doubt that I have the 'Option "SHMConfig" "on"'
setting in the correct section of the xorg.conf, but it just seems like
this cannot be read by the process that needs it.

I also tried 'Option "TouchpadOff" "1"', and 'Option "TouchpadOff" "0"',
but neither of these actually turned the touch pad off.

I saw above, in the original description, where someone commented that
the shared memory was disabled because of security. Could this be
preventing this from functioning?

I really have no idea what else to do here, but I can't even type on
this darn thing without that touchpad messing me up!
