Hi Michal, Please note that the problem isn't Unity 8 specific. I added that user_get_fallback_value() function a few years ago (admittedly it's a little 'heavy'), and the purpose was to get the start value right in various GUIs for setting language/locale, both in Ubuntu and the flavours. Even if I'm not quite sure yet, I think the problem is best fixed in the accountsservice package.
