the problem we face this time is different. there's a spare slash in
user-setup that's causing this problem globally
(https://bazaar.launchpad.net/~ubuntu-core-dev/user-
setup/ubuntu/revision/287 shows the fix which should get synced up
fairly soon).

please don't comment on this bug unless you're certain it is exactly the
same as before. one simple test would be to see if it affects ubuntu
proper. if it does (this one does), it's unlikely the same problem.
additionally, if this bug re-occured, it would be due to some sort of
regression, which really should call for a new bug.
