Understood. It just seemed that if there was a bug in the upstream kernel
and (for instance) the Arch kernel team had found it, it would similarly be
reported back upstream, not to mention that Arch seems quite against making
upstream modifications.

In any event, I am in the process of reverse commit bisecting right now. An
initial search for commits with comments containing iwlwifi did not lead to
anything promising. I will report back with results.
