There has not (to the best of my knowledge) been any formal response from the maintainers regarding a fix. The initial report in Pidgin's tracker ( https://developer.pidgin.im/ticket/15617) hasn't been touched in a while. The developers seem to be at least semi-present in irc, so that may be an option. I'm unsure as to how strongly the dropped connections are related to the abundance of zombie processes. Hypothetically, zombie processes shouldn't negatively impact stability and only use minimal amounts of memory space. Minimal amounts of memory however may add up significantly with over 1k process descriptors still held in system memory. I might, just because this ticket has been sitting here stagnant for so long, err on the side of caution and report the repeatedly dropped connections as a new bug. It's easier to merge two reports together down the line then it is to separate one issue from another. On Apr 27, 2015 5:55 PM, "StevenD57" <1245...@bugs.launchpad.net> wrote:
