Hi, I did just that before posting this, and things worked smoothly, but that was not why I posted it. I just thought changing a changed symlink shouldn't break an upgrade process midway. I would rather see that the system checks if any of the prerequisite is not filled and gives you a warning. Like in this case: "/usr/bin/python has been changed. Execute some-magic-command to reset the Python version to its default before upgrading"
