Hi Dave: Sure, I'll do my best to provide more info. To be be candid, I'm a little busy right now, so it may be a few days.
In the meantime, I'll just note that some sites seem to cause Firefox to freeze the system more quickly than do other sites. For example, opening only the default start page doesn't seem to cause a crash. However, opening Ubuntu.com, for example, causes a very rapid system freeze with Firefox in 15.04. Also, I've noticed that if I wait long enough (generally more than 10 minutes), the system can sometimes partially unfreeze, but then the desktop background is black, and text in menus and pretty much everywhere else are garbled, leaving the system unusable until reboot. I'll also not that such freezes do NOT occur when using Chrome. Oh, and I'm testing on with fully updated, but otherwise nearly clean installs, of 15.04 and 14.04.2, both running Firefox 37.0.2. (The freezes occurred both before and after installing Chrome in 15.04.) To reiterate, Firefox causes freezes with 15.04, but NOT with 14.04.2.
