I created a custom live cd, and had this problem too. It was solved by removing the file /usr/share/ubiquity/apt-setup, then recreating it again by hand and giving it the right permissions (see below)
1. sudo rm /usr/share/ubiquity/apt-setup 2. sudo nano /usr/share/ubiquity/apt-setup 3. enter the following in the file: #do nothing 4. save the file. 5. sudo chmod 755 /usr/share/ubiquity/apt-setup -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/658865 Title: Install from USB fails: "An attempt to configure apt to install additional packages from the CD failed" To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/estobuntu/+bug/658865/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
