To answer the permissions question, the permissions seem normal: -rw-r--r-- 1 sumguy231 sumguy231 2 2006-09-13 15:27 test.txt I also noticed: for me, if I leave the dialog for a while, the trash eventually does empty, but the dialog never progresses or closes. The hang when sending to the trash happens only half the time. When this happens, the trash apepars full but hangs on emptying. The other time, the progress dialog doesn't appear or hang and the file gets sent to the trash directory, but the icon and count remains at empty and the emptying progress dialog hangs. Both times, I have the hang in emptying that the first post describes. Sorry if the description isn't very clear.
