still even with the new compositor disabled ...
glxinfo gives the right output like
 OpenGL core profile version string: 3.3 (Core Profile) Mesa 10.7.0-devel
(git-ec1c72d 2015-05-30 vivid-oibaf-ppa)
 OpenGL core profile shading language version string: 3.30
 and the other one
OpenGL version string: 3.0 Mesa 10.7.0-devel (git-ec1c72d 2015-05-30
vivid-oibaf-ppa)
OpenGL shading language version string: 1.30
